How to digitize one of the largest sports clubs in Germany?

Relaunch of the website of SG Stern Deutschland e.V. with the newly created self-service section for members and simplified administration.

The club was represented at 35 locations with different websites, all with an outdated design and rarely linked. It was high time for SG Stern to act. As one of the largest German sports clubs, SG Stern wanted a central platform with a contemporary online presence for its diverse offering of training and courses. It should ideally have a booking option, a personal section for each member and optimised membership administration.

Our solution

Our first step was to set up a central platform for all locations and members in collaboration with the team from Jung von Matt/Neckar. Here, members can access all their data and info on upcoming events or courses via a self-service section. In the next step we linked this platform to member and course administration, using the kameon CLUB application.
We extended the previous range of functions, so that the sports club can now display course offers with a great variety of booking options. Then we integrated all SG sites into a uniform online presence, which still provides scope for individual variations.

All offerings can now be booked online by members. Furthermore, all centrally maintained information from the kameon system, such as locations or information on events, prices and contact persons, is from now on available in real time.

The future takes place on the smartphone

To make this online offering even more interesting and relevant, we developed a mobile app with which members can view their personal data, bookings and events independently – and the app can even function as a digital membership card.

In the pipeline...

Extending the booking function to include an option to rent equipment such as sailing boats or vehicles are already being planned. In addition, an integrated module for mass mailings will be going live shortly, making communications to the members even easier.
